Meet Maggie Moo – an Anatolian shepherd mix. This sweetheart was rescued from a shelter in East Texas just before her time was up. Maggie was turned in by her owner who could no longer care for her. Therefore, we do not know much about Maggie’s history – but what we do know is that she is very well mannered with a lovely personality. Anatolian Shepherds are bred to be livestock guardians who watch over livestock like sheep and goats. Maggie has the characteristics of an Anatolian in that she is very easy going and gentle but at the same time keeps an eye on her surroundings. She gets along with people and certainly does not mind other dogs. In fact, Maggie traveled to Houston in a crate with 5 other small dogs without even raising an eyebrow. Maggie is called a rough coated Anatolian because her hair coat is a medium length. Right now, her coat is a little dull and lifeless but with some healthy food and good care, she will clean up nicely. Maggie has a very unique set of ears – her right ear stands at attention when she perks up – it appears to be the mix part of her makeup – maybe a touch of German Shepherd. Did I mention that she has the most beautiful eyes? - a deep golden color almost like a wolf. She weighs in at 85 lbs and has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and checked for heartworms (negative). Maggie already walks very nicely on a leash and is very easy to handle. Now Maggie needs a good loving home where she can settle in companion. I just know that once you meet her you will immediately fall in love.
