My name is Lila and I am coming on through! Gosh, my life has really had its ups and downs but I finally feel like I am on level ground. As a young girl, I ended up at the city shelter (BARC) and was confined to a small kennel. When you have as much energy as I have, that is a difficult thing to deal with. I wanted someone to pay attention to me – so I would jump as high as I could – straight up. Even with that I only got out of the kennel several times a week. The food they served was just not my cup of tea but I had no choice. The longer I was there the thinner I got – I got so thin that it caught someone’s attention and I was sprung from the shelter. But I was not out of the woods yet – I was transferred to a much cleaner and nicer place – but I still was starving and no one seemed to understand me. What does a beautiful white pit bull terrier have to do to get some attention? So then I was transferred to another place where the people were nice, I got to play and I also got some really good grub. MmmMmm! But wait – there is more – I attended an adoption event where there were a lot of other dogs. Some of them were really cool – others irritated me a bit. I did manage to meet another white handsome American Bulldog mix and I really liked him. Luck was on my side that day – because I ended up staying in the same place as my new friend. Finally, I have room to run, play and even lounge in the pool with my new companion. Even though I like it here – I have been told that there is still another place in my future – that would be my forever home. I am learning some manners now so I will please my new people. I am still gaining weight so I will be even lovelier than ever. I have been fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped and my bags can be packed in a moment’ s notice. I just need a chance to prove what a wonderful girl I really am. Please contact Pat or Kathleen with Treat Em Right Rescue. They will be glad to answer any questions. I am anxiously waiting to meet you!
