GUINAN(Ruby)
Hi – my name is Guinan – ( I am of Star Trek fame). A few
months ago, I was picked up on the streets and taken to the city
shelter (BARC). With in a few days, I delivered 7 pups and found
myself in quite a mess. No one there cared that I was nursing a
litter and trying to keep them clean and dry except for a very kind
animal technician. A few days later I was taken from the shelter
along with my pups to a home where I was much more
comfortable and the meals were a lot better. Even though, I
loved my pups they were not as healthy as they should have
been. I think that they picked up an infection while in the shelter.
One by one each of the babies have passed away. Now only one
pup has made it – O’Brien is very special to me and I hope he
grows to be big and strong. Now he is on his own in his foster
home and soon he will be ready to look for his own home.
I have gained back my weight since nursing the pups and my
strength and personality has returned. Actually I am very playful
and I love to play and romp outside. Soon I will have surgery so
that I cannot have anymore pups. Meanwhile, I am learning how
to sit, stay, and walk on a leash. I really like people and get
along with most other dogs. I just know that I will make
someone a wonderful companion. So just give me a chance to
prove it by asking Pat or Kathleen from Treat ‘em Right about
me. I look forward to meeting you.
