CASSIA, CGC
18 months Old
My name is Cassia – I am named after a flowering tree
that is related to the cinnamon spice. I try to live up to my
name by being a very special girl. I did not have a very
good life before I came here. In fact, I ended up in BARC
(the city shelter) shortly before Thanksgiving. And then
much to my surprise I delivered a litter of pups. It was all
very scary to me and I really had my hands full trying to
care for my babies in such a small kennel. All I remember
is that I was very hungry and cold.
Luck was on my side when someone saw me and decided
to take me and my pups out of the shelter. I was so happy
to leave with my family. The place I went to was very
warm and comfy and I got lots of food to eat. My pups
grew big and strong and I was able to put on some weight.
Now my pups have gone to their own homes and I am
ready for a place of my own. I have had that surgery so
that I will not have any more pups and that is a load off
my mind. I love to go for walks and love to play with
other dogs, large or small. I do not mind sharing my
space with cats – I find them quite interesting. I get along
with almost anyone and will make a loving companion. I
am now going through classes for my CGC and they tell
me that I have a lot of potential to become a therapy dog.
I have received my CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and next is
my therapy dog certification.
If you are interested in adopting Cassia, please fill out the
adoption application and someone will be in touch to set
up a time to meet her.
